  • Dastardly Line x V&A

    Mannequin torso padding and irregular pieces of textile offcuts make up the unique waste produced by the V&A’s textiles conservation studio. Supplemented with other sources of surplus material, we have created a series of bags sold in the V&A gift shop that celebrate the beautiful colours, textures and stories of the waste.

  • Dastardly Line x Johnstons of Elgin

    Essential to the manufacture of woven textiles, selvedge is the thin strip of material that is trimmed from the edge of Johnstons of Elgin’s final products. We created a design and a manufacturing method to produce cashmere throws and scarves solely from this essential waste.

    The story began with a longarm quilting machine, as quilting is the original zero-waste hobby. Our quilt studio focuses on education and the calming, mindful benefits quilting brings. We offer machine rental and a curated selection of digital patterns for longarm quilters globally.
